Ionising Radiations Regulations (IRR17) Training for Occupational Physicians

This one-day training course is designed for occupational physicians and other doctors who undertake, or are preparing to undertake, medical surveillance of workers exposed to ionising radiation under the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR17).

The course provides the knowledge and practical understanding required to support the role of the HSE Appointed Doctor and covers the syllabus areas specified in HSE guidance for doctors undertaking medical surveillance of classified workers.

The programme combines essential scientific and regulatory principles with practical occupational medicine case discussions, helping participants apply the requirements of IRR17 confidently in clinical practice.

The course is particularly relevant to occupational physicians working with organisations in the nuclear, healthcare, research, engineering and other sectors where workers may be occupationally exposed to ionising radiation.

Delivered twice a year by The Clinical Academy, it covers everything needed for the Diploma in Occupational Medicine (Doctors) and Diploma in Occupational Health Practice (Nurses).
